About Me

The son of Lebanese immigrants, Eli Tannis witnessed his parents struggle to build a business from the ground up, while simultaneously raising six children and adjusting to life in Canada. Eli's parents taught him a strong work ethic and the importance of giving back. With that same work ethic that Eli has applied throughout his career, his focus is on strengthening families and small businesses, as these are vital to building a strong community.

Over the past 40+ years, Eli has been an active and caring member of Ottawa; raising his four children with his wife, Joyce, leading successful businesses and giving back to those in need.

During his career at Tannis Foods, Eli and his family created hundreds of jobs for Ottawa residents. He is a co-founder of the Tannis21 Foundation which contributed more than $1.3 million to community hospitals, research and healthcare facilities, and other charitable organizations. Eli and his siblings spearheaded a partnership with Ottawa Salus to fund and create Karen's Place; a state-of-the-art housing facility for those living with mental illness. He has also served as the President of Hawthorne Business Park Association and served of the board of St. Elias Cathedral.
